On 3rd October, storyteller Alma Dhingra visited Parivartan Special School with stories and activities.
The story told was simple. A mother’s journey to her daughter’s house, navigating the forest and keeping herself safe from animals all of whom were promised they could eat her once she was well-fed in her daughters house. The children enjoyed it immensely.
Alma asked the audience to come up with solutions for the mother to go back home, including suggesting she fly, or use magic. In the story, she used a pot as a disguise to roll down the hill and avoid meeting the animals.
Following the storytelling, children participated in activities like balloon catching, playing with a parachute made by them and playing rhythms. They also made animal sounds in sync with the story.
