For her storytelling session at Deepalaya Learning Centre, Haiderpur, Ruchi Arora chose her stories about something very common and ordinary: mosquitoes. But the way she narrated those stories was far from mundane; it excited and amused the young audience. Her session was attended by about 60 students of 8 to 14 year olds, who engaged with the storyteller at every chance they could. Mid performance, Ruchi broke into a unique song about mosquitoes and was eventually joined by the children, who picked up the words as she sang. She kept the energy of the audience up by means of activities like games, art and music. The children tapped into their creative minds and drew mosquitoes straight from their imagination. Even after the session ended, the smiles on their faces did not fade away.
