Indie bookshops in the UK launch Valentines4Palestine campaign

Seventeen independent bookshops across the United Kingdom will hold events on Valentine’s Day to raise money for the PEN Emergency Fund, which will be ring-fenced to provide support to writers at risk who are in and from Palestine.

The organisers of the campaign Valentines4Palestine have announced that for every £1,000 collected, the PEN Emergency Fund will be able to provide an emergency grant to a Palestinian writer at risk.

Some of the participants include Bookbag in Exeter, Paned o Gê in Cardiff, Burley Fisher Books in Hackney, bookhaus in Bristol and the Hastings Bookshop in Hastings.
