On 5th August, the wooden floor of Eureka Books turned colourful with thick yarns of wool spread everywhere. We hosted a Spinning Yarn workshop with Shalini, who was thrilled to share her experience of using yarns to create pieces of art. And what better artwork to make than a sustainable Bookmark made of Yarn!
The children picked up the materials and listened carefully to Shalini’s every instruction. She suggested the older kids to try a challenging design while the younger kids made simple motifs. But one thing was common — everyone got an evening packed with creativity and inspiration. They learnt the skill of needle-work and patience as they weaved their bookmarks to completion. The evening was a retreat from the ordinary and a perfect example of how learning something new could turn out to be fun. The event came to an end as we bid the elated kids goodbye.
